Alfa Romeo unveiled the Giulia Quadrifoglio Racing Edition in 2019 to celebrate their return to Formula 1. In total, there were just 35 produced, of which only 10 RHD examples were delivered to the UK. Each Racing Edition car bears the name of a track where a famous historical race win for Alfa Romeo took place. With no two cars sharing the same track, this example proudly wears ‘1950 Italian GP Monza’, a race won by Italian racing driver Nino Farina who went on to claim the first Formula 1 World Drivers Championship in the same year.
All special edition cars left the factory finished in Trofeo Metallic White with beautifully contrasting Competizione Red, underlined by a sleek black line to complete the livery. The Aero Enhancement package which was developed by Sauber F1 engineers is as expected, very impressive, it includes exposed carbon-fibre roof, rear spoiler, front splitter, wider side skirts, canards and door mirror covers. Alfa Romeo carefully opted to use lightweight materials across multiple aspects of the car, the result was a total of 28kg in weight saving compared to the standard Giulia Quadrifoglio.
The stunning white paintwork and red livery on this 2020 example are in excellent condition, which is in line with the car’s very low mileage. There are no reported blemishes which is down to the level of care from its current owner treating the exterior painted surfaces, glass, wheels, plastics and carbon fibre parts with Gtechniq coating and protection.
The unmistakable dark grey 19-inch alloy wheels are also in excellent condition and fitted with Pirelli P Zero tyres. Sitting behind the wheels are red brake callipers with carbon-ceramic brakes.
Moving inside, the cabin is trimmed in black leather and Alcantara with red contrasting stitching, red seatbelts and extensive carbon-fibre inlays. The cabin follows the same theme as the exterior and is in equally impressive order, with no visible signs of wear. It also benefits from Gtechniq full interior protection.
Under the bonnet is the highly acclaimed 2.9-litre Bi-turbo V6 engine which has been factory tuned to deliver 520bhp and 600Nm of torque; enough power to propel the Guilia Quadrifoglio from 0-60mph in 3.9 seconds and onwards to 191mph. It delivers a beautiful soundtrack courtesy of a Akrapovic titanium exhaust system.
Under the same ownership from new this Guilia Quadrifoglio comes with a full-service history, the last of which was completed in July this year after which less than 100 miles have been covered.
Accompanying the car is the factory issued owners book pack, including personally signed autographs of 2007 Formula 1 world champion Kimi Räikkönen and former Formula 1 driver Antonio Giovinazzi, an official letter from Alfa Romeo confirming limited edition status and the service book, which includes a letter confirming the rear brake disc recall has been completed.
