The ‘Cal-Style’ influence originated on the streets of Los Angeles in the late 1970s. Typically, it featured an all-original VW that was lowered and enhanced with chrome trim, bumpers, and unique accessories.
The exterior of this 1971 VW Beetle is presented in excellent overall condition, having previously undergone restoration. The light blue paintwork is in great shape and perfectly complements the character of the car. There is a small paint blemish on the driver’s side front wheel arch, but it does little to detract from the overall presentation.
The chrome work, roof rack, visor, and badges—which complete the exterior aesthetic—are also in excellent condition and add significantly to the ‘Cal-Style’ look. The 15-inch white alloy wheels sit neatly within the wheel arches, and all four tyres retain a good amount of tread.
Inside, the cream and grey leather upholstery is in very good condition on both the front and rear seats. This colour theme continues across the door cards, carpets, and body-colour dashboard. The original white steering wheel and VW-embroidered cushions round out the vintage-inspired interior. The odometer currently shows 73,967 miles.
Under the bonnet is a tuned 1645cc air-cooled flat-four engine, paired with a four-speed manual gearbox. The vendor reports that the engine runs perfectly and has been well maintained.
This 1971 VW Beetle ‘Cal-Style’ is a tastefully modified version of an automotive icon. Presented in excellent condition overall, it would make a stylish weekend cruiser or a distinctive addition to any classic car collection.
