Description
Rolling off the production line in April 1927 this Cadillac was one of the last 314 models produced. Previously owned in Belgium, it arrived in Jersey in April 2016 where it’s been very well maintained and cared for by its current owner.
Under the bonnet it’s powered by the renowned and remarkably smooth 5.1 litre V8 which boasts an engine displacement of 314 cubic inches – hence the series name 314. Coupled to this is a 3-speed manual gearbox which delivers drive to the rear wheels. Both the front and rear wheels are all fitted with drum brakes.
The exterior of this 314 Cadillac is presented in maroon red with silver running boards on each side and is in excellent condition overall, including all chrome work. Structurally this 314 is incredibly solid, with no signs of any corrosion across the floors, chassis, or body – it’s a real testament to the care and attention it has received during ownership.
The 12 spoke ‘artillery’ wheels have all been fully refurbished to display the beautiful wooden grain and are fitted with traditional whitewall tyres.
Moving inside, the interior condition mirrors the external condition. The front bench seat is well sprung, and the light beige cloth is very well presented without any blemishes. The same fabric also covers the door cards which feature an embossed Cadillac emblem. The dash and wooden features are also in excellent condition.
Moving into the rear of the car, you’re immediately struck by the spaciousness. The limousine-like seating area features folding jump seats and folding footrests. Overall, the 314 is equipped to carry 7 people. The carpets and seat cloth are excellently presented.
This Cadillac is in very good mechanical order and starts first time, every time. The seller reports there are no mechanical or electrical faults, and all dials and associated elements are fully operational.
Presented in excellent condition and fast approaching 100 years old, this beautiful Cadillac 314 is a spectacle sure to impress at any classic or vintage gathering. It would make a fantastic addition to any collection or enthusiast’s garage.
