Description
The Morris Minor was first produced in 1948 in the form of the ‘Series MM’ which were made until 1953. For the next 4 years the ‘Series 2’ Minor was produced before the Series 3 ‘1000’ took over in 1956 until production stopped in 1971. This particular example was originally from the UK and has been in Jersey for the past 10 years.
The exterior of this Minor is presented in good condition overall. Having benefitted from a renovation by UK Morris Minor specialist Charles Ware, the body panels are presented well. As expected with a car of this age, there are some smalls signs of rust bubbles, mainly on the bottom edge of the passenger door. The traditional and period baby blue paintwork perfectly suits the character of the car and is again presented well. The chrome work on the front bumper, grill surround and rear bumper shows signs of deterioration, however remaining elements are in good condition.
The 14-inch steel wheels are painted white with chrome hub caps featuring the ‘M’ emblem. The tyres retain a significant amount of tread.
Exploring the interior, the front seats are in excellent condition having benefited from being recovered. The rear bench seat appears to be original and shows some signs of age-related wear. The carpets, door cards and dash are all presented in very good condition.
Under the bonnet is a 948cc A-series engine mounted to a 4-speed manual gearbox. The engine runs well and starts every time. The vendor reports there are no mechanical or electrical issues with the car and it comes with a documented service history including new brakes all round.
Presented in good condition overall, this Morris Minor 1000 is a great example of a characterful classic. The sale includes a number of spares, original handbook and other history documents.
