Description
The Ford Mustang was first launched in 1964 and has been in continuous production ever since, making it Ford’s longest produced model. Oozing with American charm, the classic muscle ‘pony car’ is one of the most recognisable classic cars from the US and attracts admiring glances wherever it goes.
The exterior of this Mustang is presented in excellent overall condition. The body shell and all of the exterior body panels are incredibly solid, the same can be said for the underneath of the car. The eye-catching springtime yellow paintwork is also very well presented, with only a couple of small blemishes. The chrome work which completes the outside appearance of the car is also in very good condition.
The period 14” polished and black steel wheels are well suited to this classic; all four tyres retain a significant amount of tread with a white band on each tyre wall.
Exploring the interior, the light brown leather front seats have aged incredibly well and include beautiful detail on each back support. The rear seats are in excellent condition, along with the roof lining and carpets throughout. The dished three spoke steering wheel looks fantastic, as does the dash and circular dials.
Under the bonnet is a burbling 289 cubic inch (4.7 litre) V8 engine which runs incredibly smoothly and delivers a fantastic soundtrack. Last serviced in November 2023, it starts and drives perfectly. Power is delivered to the rear wheels via a three-speed ‘Cruise-o-matic’ automatic gearbox.
This rare Ford Mustang is a stunning and very usable example of the iconic American muscle ‘Pony Car’. The instantly recognisable styling and V8 engine provide the perfect combination for weekend drives and turning heads at any car show and fast becoming highly collectable.
