Description

The BSA Rocket III was produced from 1968 to 1972, before BSA ceased production altogether in 1973 following the company’s collapse. The Triumph X-75 Hurricane, which followed, was produced for just one year in 1972. It was essentially a Rocket III at heart, but with a completely different attitude and distinctive visual impact.

This Hurricane-spec conversion has been completed to an exceptionally high standard, including a genuine and rare Hurricane cylinder head along with the correct extended front forks and alloy rims.

Located in Guernsey, the bike has been meticulously maintained by its current owner and has won multiple awards, including ‘Best British’ and ‘Judge’s Choice’ over the years. The striking orange and yellow paintwork on the tank and sides is in excellent condition, as is all of the chrome work, including the wheels. The black leather seat shows no signs of wear.

The instrument panel includes both a rev counter and speedometer, paired with the correct wide, pull-back handlebars.

Power comes from a 740cc air-cooled, four-stroke inline triple-cylinder engine mated to a 4-speed gearbox. The engine and all associated ancillaries are presented just as well as the rest of the bike. The vendor confirms that this Hurricane conversion runs perfectly with no issues.

The sale includes a substantial history file, featuring original motorcycle magazines from the time of the Hurricane’s launch, as well as a certificate of authenticity and original handbooks.

This BSA Rocket III Hurricane conversion is a stunning example of a rare British motorcycle. Maintained to an exceptionally high standard, it’s ready to be enjoyed—whether on a summer’s day ride or proudly displayed at classic motorcycle shows.
