Description
Orchard or vineyard tractors were specifically produced to cater for fruit or vineyard farms. Their narrow front and rear track allowed them to effectively run up and down the fields between the trees. This 1969 McCormick International 434 is a lovely example which has undergone and full restoration that was completed in 2020.
It’s powered by a rebuilt 2.5 litre diesel engine and coupled to an 8-speed (six forward and two reverse) gearbox and mechanical clutch. The independent hydraulic system is also fully operational.
This 434 has been dry stored and used sparingly since completion and the exterior panels are all in very good condition. Fitted with new rear wings and bonnet during the restoration, it has been resprayed in the traditional deep red and cream McCormick International colours.
Both the front and rear wheels have been finished to match the body colour, and the tyres still retain a significant amount of tread.
The single driver’s seat has been refurbished in black and cream leather and shows no signs of wear.
Mechanically, this 434 runs perfectly and always starts without issue. The engine, suspension components and underneath have all been resprayed during the restoration and perfectly compliment the rest of the tractor. The vendor reports there are no mechanical or electrical faults, and all dials and associated elements are fully operational.
McCormick International were very popular tractors of their era, and this 1969 orchard/vineyard 434 is a rare example. Having been fully restored to a very good standard, it would make a fantastic addition for any classic tractor collection or enthusiast.
