Originally from California, this left-hand drive Type 2 example started life as a 7-seater mini-bus before being converted to the campervan configuration you see today.
Exploring the exterior, the light blue and white paintwork is excellently presented, and this theme continues throughout the campervan. Having benefited from a professional restoration, the exterior panels are all incredibly solid and more importantly, free of corrosion. The condition of this camper has also benefited from being dry-stored and used sparingly since restoration.
Moving inside, the front cabin provides two seats separated by a centre console, both front seats are covered in a smart red fabric and leather and are in excellent condition with no sign of wear. The matching red covered door cards and black dashboard are also presented well, with all dials and associated switches fully operational. It also features some nice finishing touches, including the bespoke steering wheel and matching window winders.
Moving into the rear, you’re presented with an immaculate and spacious living area. This includes a bench seat which folds down as a bed and a centre table, which although not currently fitted is included in the sale.
Under the rear hatch is a 1800cc engine which start and runs faultlessly; its last service was completed at the end of 2023. Drive is delivered via a 3-speed automatic gearbox which when combined with the power assisted steering makes driving this campervan incredibly easy and comfortable. It’s also fitted with a fire extinguisher and battery isolator switch.
The 15-inch Porsche wheels are a tasteful addition to the exterior, and when combined with the slightly lowered suspension complete the retro aesthetic look. All four tyres retain a significant amount of tread.
