Description
At the heart of this Dax Rush lies the iconic 2.0-litre Cosworth YB engine — a powerplant synonymous with British motorsport success and high-performance road cars. Renowned for its strength, tunability and unmistakable character, the YB gives this lightweight Rush an exceptional power-to-weight ratio and driving experience. Paired with a 5-speed manual gearbox, the car runs well and benefits from an engine refresh carried out in 2024.
The Dax Rush itself is a Lotus Seven-inspired kit car developed in the UK by Dax Cars, prized for its rigid chassis, low weight and adaptability. As a result, Rush models have long been popular in hillclimbs, sprints and track days, while remaining engaging and usable for enthusiastic road driving.
This example has been on the island since 2013 and has previously seen use in local hillclimb events. It stands ready to be raced, hill-climbed or enjoyed on a Sunday jaunt, depending on its next owner’s intentions.
The bodywork is finished in red paintwork combined with bare aluminium panels, giving it an authentic, motorsport-inspired appearance. A rear spoiler adds to its aggressive stance, while a red roll cage encloses the interior area, enhancing both safety and visual impact.
It sits on silver alloy wheels wrapped in Toyo Proxes R888 tyres, popular for competition and track use.
The cabin features black and blue leather seats fitted with harnesses. A battery isolator is fitted, making the car suitable for motorsport events, and the dashboard houses a variety of gauges, including turbo boost pressure and oil pressure, allowing close monitoring of the Cosworth engine under load.
Adding a unique layer of interest, this Dax Rush also benefits from previous ownership history linked to the Mansell family, lending rare and appealing provenance to an already special car.
Raw, lightweight and deeply engaging, this Dax Rush stands ready to be raced, hill-climbed or simply enjoyed on a Sunday jaunt, offering a thrilling driving experience that modern cars simply cannot replicate.
Please note the 4-digit registration number is not included in the sale.
