Ferrari Dino 246 GT Front Nose

Winning Bid: £2,250.00

A unique opportunity to acquire an original and rare Ferrari Dino 246 GT front nose section, including an original enamel ‘Dino’ badge and front grille.

Description

In the late 1960s, Ferrari introduced their new V6 sports car. Named after Enzo Ferrari’s late son Alfredo, who had been credited with designing the new engine, the ‘Dino’ was born. The first road car was the Dino 206 GT, which featured a 2.0-litre engine and aluminium bodywork. Later came the more powerful 246 GT with its 2.4-litre V6 and longer wheelbase, and the model was continually developed throughout its life until production stopped in 1974.

This rare front body section from an original Dino 246 is believed to have been removed from an early model. The body section incorporates the front wings, nose, and lower panel.

An original enamel ‘Dino’ badge is fitted on the nose and the sale also includes the front grille from another 246 GT.

The main bodywork has been stripped of its paintwork, revealing the metal and leadwork which was often used on classic cars in that period. There is evidence of minor repairs in the metal, and some small areas of expected corrosion, but overall, the bodywork is in a solid condition.

This unique and rare front nose section would lend itself perfectly to being repurposed as a statement desk for a large office or showroom, or it could perhaps be reimagined as a piece of automotive art to be displayed in a garage (or house if you can get away with it!). However the next owner chooses to use it, this is an authentic piece of classic Ferrari automobilia, and it would be an attention-grabbing acquisition for any enthusiast.
