Description
Presented in very good overall condition, this 2002 Subaru Impreza WRX Wagon delivers estate car practicality, but with an injection of rally heritage. It’s renowned 2.0 litre turbocharge flat-four engine produces 227bhp in factory form, driving all four wheels via a five-speed manual gearbox.
The 22-year-old bodywork is in very good condition overall. The World Rally Blue paintwork is also very well presented, and following some light storm damage now benefits from having several panels being re-sprayed including the roof, driver side, and passenger side rear quarter panel. The only blemishes of note are on the rear door surrounds where the black paint is starting to wear, a scuff under the front bumper corner and small marks on the rear bumper and boot lid.
The 17-inch gold ‘STI’ wheels complete the exterior appearance and provide a further nod to its rally heritage. All four wheels are wrapped in Maxxis tyres.
It also benefits from some tasteful additions including Prodrive mudflaps and a Prodrive exhaust backbox, further enhancing the sound of the flat four rumble!
Stepping inside, the black and grey fabric seats show some expected age-related wear, however, could be rejuvenated with a clean. The dashboard and associated electronics including air-conditioning and electric windows are all fully operational.
Mechanically, this Impreza has been well maintained with engine oil and filter changes every 3,000 miles during the 6-year tenure of its current owner. Most recently, it received a full service in October 2023 which included a new clutch, cam-belt replacement, water pump, thermostat, and rocker cover gaskets.
This Impreza WRX Wagon has a huge amount to offer and would make a perfect retro daily driver. It’s rally inspired appearance, engine and heritage all adding to the appeal.
