Description

BSA was one of Britain’s most celebrated motorcycle manufacturers, producing a wide range of machines renowned for their traditional engineering and distinctive styling. The BSA C10 250cc formed part of the marque’s post-war range, offering the character and appeal of a classic British motorcycle from the early 1950s.

This example is a particularly interesting Jersey motorcycle, having been registered locally from new under registration J33868. A BSA Owners Club Dating Certificate accompanies the motorcycle, confirming it as a 1953 model manufactured in 1952 and despatched to Colebrooks Motorcycles on 14 November 1952. Importantly, the certificate also confirms that the engine and frame numbers are correct.

The motorcycle underwent a comprehensive refurbishment a few years ago. Finished in a lovely maroon colour, it retains the classic appearance that makes these British motorcycles so appealing. All components were painted in the correct colours, while the wheel rims were replaced and fitted with stainless steel spokes. The rims were then painted and lined to a high standard, and all chrome work was restored. New cables and other components were also fitted as part of the restoration.

The resulting presentation reflects the attention given to the restoration, with the maroon finish complemented by the restored chrome work and carefully finished wheels. The owner estimates that replicating the restoration to the same standard would cost in excess of £6,000 at today’s prices.

Since the restoration, the motorcycle has remained unused, making it a great proposition for a collector seeking a well-presented example with documented provenance and a confirmed local history.

Combining its attractive maroon finish, Jersey registration from new, BSA Owners Club documentation and comprehensive restoration, this 1953 BSA C10 250cc offers a distinctive opportunity to acquire a classic British motorcycle with an established local connection.
