Under the bonnet is a 2.0-litre turbocharged inline four engine, coupled to the 4Motion all-wheel-drive system, via a six-speed automatic gearbox. It produces an incredibly impressive 306bhp and 280lb ft of torque, which propels it from 0-60mph in just 5.1 seconds. Originally from the UK, it’s covered 32,700 miles from new.
Exploring the exterior of the car, the deep Lapiz blue paintwork is excellent and has been incredibly well maintained. The only blemish to the sculpted bodywork is a very small dent on the driver’s side front wing. The exterior has also had some tasteful modifications in the form of a front splitter, rear diffuser, and carbon spoiler. The car rides on the optional 19-inch ‘Pretoria’; twin five-spoke alloy wheels which feature only some light scuff marks. Brand new Continental tyres have been fitted this year.
Moving inside, the heated black fabric front seat along with the rear seats are in great condition, with no sign of wear. The door cards and dashboard are all in excellent condition and house the factory-fitted equipment which includes satellite navigation, Bluetooth connectivity, Apple car play and ambient lighting. This Golf R is also fitted with sophisticated ‘3P’ airlift suspension which is electronically adjusted via a small control unit mounted alongside the dash.
Mechanically this Golf R has been very well maintained and comes with a full-service history. Its most recent full service was completed in October 2023 which included both engine and gearbox oil and filter changes.
